Joining a Skyblock server takes about a minute. Here is the short version.
Step 1: Get Java Edition
Most Skyblock servers - Asteria included - run on Minecraft Java Edition. Asteria requires Minecraft Java 1.21.8. If you are on Bedrock, Pocket Edition, or a console, you will need a Java account to play.
Step 2: Add the server
Launch Minecraft, go to Multiplayer, then Add Server. Type in the server IP. For
Asteria, that is play.asteriaskyblock.com. Name the server whatever you like.
Step 3: Connect
Click the server in your list and hit Join Server. The first connection might take a few seconds while world data loads.
Step 4: Start your island
Most Skyblock servers will guide you through claiming an island automatically. On Asteria,
you can run /island create to pick your starter layout.
Troubleshooting
- Server not showing up? Double check the IP for typos.
- Outdated client? Make sure your Minecraft version is Java 1.21.8.
- Connection timed out? The server may be restarting - wait a minute and retry.
When in doubt, hop into the server’s Discord and ask in #support. Most issues are solved in under five minutes.
